Call for Loose Threads

Loose threads are one of life's little problems.
Left unattended our buttons fall off,
our seams unravel,
our pants fall down.
Loose threads symbolise all that is unfinished in the world - that which has come undone.
I want to do something about it and I need your help
Send me a loose thread, textile is best - it can be extracted or found
I will tie it up, along with others, crafting a collective solution to an old problem.
Feel free to send this request on to your family, a friend, an acquaintance, or friends of friends.

Please take the time to contribute by sending your loose thread to

Roseanne Bartley (mailto:roseannebartley@hotmail.com)

Working with a wide range of materials and processes Roseanne creates jewellery and objects that offer a meditation upon the journey of material substances and their relationship to us, to time, space and place. Roseanne's projects often involve some form of social process or community participation. In a side street in Barcelona she initiated the 'Link Up' project – a collective drawing of a necklace, in Santiago she began documenting the extraction of a single hair from occupants along the lateral line of the Southern hemisphere, and her second Human Necklace performance project, Teardrop was held at the Southern Cross Station in Melbourne. A mother of two young children, Roseanne is temporarily unable to travel the world (or go out at night) but she allows this to shape her work rather than to limit it. To view her work
